I first organized Rethink Technologies, Inc. in May 2004 with investment from Dick Mastromatteo (founder and owner at that time of Cri-Tech, Inc, which was my previous employer). Dick financed Rethink Technologies to pursue Fibersperse⢠and Nanosperse⢠dispersions for use in reinforcing elastomers. We built a pilot plant to produce these nanocomposite masterbatches.
In January 2007, I parted company with Dick; he got the pilot plant and the IP on Fibersperse and Nanosperse, and I got the lab equipment and the corporate name. Since then, Rethink Technologies has become a small and capable research company that specializes in IP development and solving difficult problems for its customers.
